Organizations can have a huge impact on early literacy, thanks to the number of people they represent and the resources they may be able to commit. Still, it all starts with a few special people who not only realize what their organization can accomplish, but step forward to lead the way.
Member / Employee Involvement
One of the things everyone can do is spread the READ! 365 message internally. If a small fraction of your people get involved in some way, the result will be phenomenal!
We’ve listed a few ideas to get you thinking; READ! 365 can help with materials and artwork.
- Insert a flyer about literacy or volunteer opportunities in paycheck envelopes.
- Display a READ! 365 poster in an employee lunch room or other gathering place.
- Include an article in your employee newsletter, or a banner, pop-up or link on your intranet, reminding everyone to READ! 365.
- Distribute informational materials or tips on reading to a child.
- Promote books (and reading time!) as a theme for holiday or special-occasion gift-giving.
